A couple of kids swimming in the luxuriously cold waters of Barton Springs Pool in Austin. I love the green water - its so clear and reflective. And such a relief on hot days!

I am looking forward to being at the coast of NC next weekend. I'm a little bummed that my family isn't traveling with me. When one works for "the man", the schedule isn't open enough. But then again, the paycheck is a whole lot better than when one is working for "the self". :-)

Bucket-Fulls
9x12 pastel
I haven't worked in pastels since taking Margaret Dyer's workshop in March. I got a few ampersand boards (which I really like) and I got some more colors as I needed some more interesting dark colors. And since I've been working away diligently on my June show, I thought I'd take a break and play with pastels for a bit. This is a work in progress, but its coming along. My favorite part? His ears! :-)

ETSY
Once in awhile I like to remind friends of the most wonderful outlet for all things handmade. I find gifts on ETSY all the time - teacher's gifts, mother's day, something for a special friend, etc. Everything from scarves to jewelry to fine art. And they are all so unique and creative. You really need to check it out! You have to have an account (username/password) to shop but its so worth it.
Some of the vendors put together neat "treasuries" too.... and I was included in some very fun ones this past week.
Check them out -
May's Dream of Summer Vacation makes me long for the lazy days of summer.
Paintings of Kids at Play is a lovely collection of children in art.
My painting of the sprinkler park was featured in both.

11x6 oil on panel
$150 + s/h - sold
Available on ETSY
I have not yet really put much energy into my ETSY store, but it is something I plan to work on and use more regularly.

Double Dog Dare

10x12
oil on panel
What fun! Fun to paint and fun to remember the scene. You can almost hear them taunting and goading each other. These two were on Siesta Key beach practicing with their skimboard.
This painting is going to Carmel By The Sea, California. I am really excited to share the news that I am joining Edward Montgomery Fine Art Gallery. My paintings should be there early next week. I wish I could go with them. Soon!
