Fan of Fiction

I love bookstores. And I love used bookstores especially. I am a big fan of regency "romance". Three or four years ago I would never admit that, lest I be chastised for reading romances. Well, they are a fun escape. My favorites, and the reason I frequent used book stores, are the ones written in the 70s and 80s. Before the "bodice rippers" which fill the shelves today. After one has read all the Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer's written, one must find something.

I love this! Reminds me of the many many happy hours I've spent in used book stores. I used to care about what folks thought of what I bought, but thank goodness with age comes wisdom. And my current wisdom tells me, "never apologize for what you like! Own it, celebrate it, and people will often be swayed by your simple enthusiasm!"

I love this painting too, Robin. Wonderful composition and it really has the feel of a used bookstore. Great job!

I agree that it very much conveys the sense of a used book store, even before reading your text. I think the close up perspective sets the tone for that. I can smell those old books.
