6x6 oil on panel
$100 + $12 s/hIts been an age since I did a small work like this. I spent a long time this morning just trying to find something to spark my imagination again. I swear, two days ago I had a hundred ideas and then suddenly this morning I had nothing. Even those ideas that were pressing me to work the other day left me. I can look at the very same photos and sketches and I see nothing. Its like lighting a match... sometimes that flame just catches and roars to life and other times, its a wet match, and nothing will make a spark. Its very annoying.
Finally today I recalled these overhead views. I needed something a little different, something simple and graphic almost. I painted several of these which I will post over the next few days. It was a good morning, after all.

oh those day when you can't get motivated to draw or paint, but once you get into the paint with just a glimmer of hope, time ceases to exist... and the result is quite wonderful. i like this small painting. r.
You amaze me. You are able to capture the exact moment of a gesture to make it seem so real.
Those days SUCK! But wow what a great come back. WOnderful little piece.
This painting is energetic and fun.
I do know what you mean, though, about some days not having any ideas! It's bound to happen, I guess.
