City Beat 12
7x5 oil on panel
$100 + s/h
I've actually painted this guy before in a larger canvas, and no matter how careful I am, the arm looks awkward. Its the perspective and his angle.
I am currently struggling to get my calendar all figured out and get my business stuff organized. Its amazing how busy one gets when school starts. There are like 5 school events in the next week, registration forms due, etc. etc. And then I am trying to make contact with all my galleries and update work for them and paint new ones. And I always seem to have side projects and ideas that want attention. It sometimes makes me want to run and hide. With a nice hot chocolate.
But, as my mom would tell me, time to pull up my big girl panties and get to work!

Very unusual angle, but done beautifully.
I really like the shadows.
Didn't notice the arm until you pointed it out. See? You shouldn't point out your supposed flaws! It's a nice painting.
Sometimes it can be overwhelming.
And I'm with virginia on this one.
I love the point of view on this!!!
It is amazing how challenging it is to paint the human body, and the shapes and angles our anatomy can display. I am not bothered by anything on this great painting. You have captured good composition and design on a very small support, but made a "big" accomplishment! Thumbs up from me.
I don't think the arm is too bad! I hadn't noticed until you pointed it out, just like Virginia says too. It might be a tad too long? But I think the angles are fine. All in all I love the perspective and think it's a great piece. You've got the blues and violets in the shadows down beautifully.
So dramatic from the viewing angle. Love this!
Hi Robin... Despite your concern about "the arm problem" in your latest bird's eye composition... it nontheless satisfies the eye with your wonderfully playful composition... rich colour and your deft painterly and expressive brushwork!!!
These are your consistent hallmarks in your work that I admire! Well done!
Warmest regards,
Bruce Sherman
