Moses Botkin Monthly Challenge

SPRING is in the air!

This month's challenge was suggested by Jeanne Illenye and it was nice and broad for our interpretation.

About a week ago I met the Plein Air Austin group for a paint out at a beautiful ranch near Kyle, Texas. The landscape challenged me, as always, and I turned my attention to my fellow painters. What can I say? I am a figure painter. My sketch there was loose at best. But I liked the idea a lot and so chose this subject as my view of spring! I wonder if Johnnie and Suzanne will recognize themselves?

These are really great! I want to be out painting, instead of working on taxes! Ha ha! I bought all this painting stuff and only used it in Calvert a little, and one afternoon in my yard, and just have been doing my little sketches in my sketchbook, since then. Need to put some of this left brain stuff aside and enjoy the Bluebonnets and all.
I like that you put the link to the Austin PAP. They need to add their info on the Sketch Crawl Forum. I put B/CS and our area on there.
Happy painting!

Plein air painting is perfect to portray the idea of spring! I love the energy of the figures in all that green grass. I can almost smell the pollen?!

these are wonderful. I particularly like the painters working on location. Also, one of my favorite scenes.
