Below is the study I did for this challenge and as a warm up for a larger painting I did yesterday. I think I have one more in me too. What a fun setting.

Our group is getting a little smaller. So many obligations can interefe with painting time and I am sorry to see some have to focus on other work. Hopefully they can get back to our challenge group soon. Look at the fabulous efforts put forth this month!

I love this painting! There is something about laundry hanging on a clothesline blowing in the breeze that attracts me! You did a great job!!
ReplyDeleteRobin, this is one of my favorite of your works. Not surprising it sold right away, it's just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSpotted you on Suzanne Berry's blog.. your challenge painting is stunning! The light is breathtaking. Love the pale yellow of her dress, and her shimmering hair.
ReplyDeleteGosh, that is a gorgeous painting, Robin.
ReplyDeleteI really love the way you handled the dress and laundry in "Saturday's chores". Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely lovely
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity and immediacy of your lovely painting, Robin! I had several ideas for this month's Challenge and one of them was along the same lines as you chose to paint.
ReplyDeleteThe figure makes this such an arresting piece and I can't wait to see what else you're going to paint of the same subject!
One of the most fun parts about doing this group Challenge is the surprise of what we each paint when we unveil our creations. It's such a kick to see how similarly and how differently each of us approaches the subject each month.
Such a visceral image for this challenge. I so love it, the memories it brings of my mom hanging laundry on the line, the sun and the breeze, the smells of fresh laundry...Gorgeous work!
ReplyDeleteI first saw this on Suzanne's blog and rushed right over with the intent of buying this....too late!
ReplyDeleteIt is a stunning work, Robin. Congratulations!
Love this one - it just glows of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThe light shining through the sheet is wonderful!

ReplyDeleteNice, nice, nice!! Lovely impressionist approach! I'm a new follower! Hope you'll stop over at http://karemartinarts.blogspot.com sometime:-)
ReplyDeleteThe shadows on the sheet and the softness of the whites draw me in. I can almost smell the fresh laundry in the breeze!
